Volunteer Weekend Registration - PLEASE READ FIRST!
The Baltimore County Volunteer Weekend is a joint training program between the Baltimore County Volunteer Firefighter's Association and the Baltimore County Fire-Rescue Academy. This weekend provides the Hazardous Materials Awareness & Core Competencies Program and initial CPR Training. Unless impacted by a holiday, this weekend is typically the first weekend of each month. If you are a new member and wish to register for one or both of these programs, please read the below information carefully before submitting your application.
General Registration Information
Registration is limited to 30 members per month. The Saturday session runs from 8:00 a.m. until approximately 4:00 p.m and is held at the Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company. This day covers an orientation to the Baltimore County Fire Service and the Hazardous Materials Awareness & Core Competencies Program. Students should plan on packing a lunch.
Sunday's session runs from 8:00 a.m. until approximately 4:00 p.m. This day covers cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillator (AED) training and is held at the Liberty Road Volunteer Fire Company.
Members who are seated in the program will receive a seating confirmation no less than TEN (10) days prior to the start of the class with further information. Please be advised that there is required pre-course work which must be completed prior to attending.
To Register
Before continuing, please ensure you have the following information handy. Please do not continue past this point until you have this information as you will be unable to complete the registration without this. DO NOT SUBMIT DUPLICATE REGISTRATIONS!
- Your LOSAP ID number. This is your six-digit identification which was provided to you when joining your company.
- A FEMA Student ID number. You may obtain a SID by visiting https://cpd.dhs.gov/femasid/register . If you have forgotten your SID, you can find it at https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid/account/find
- Your Social Security Number.
- The name of your Volunteer Fire Company. On the MFRI form, you must use the name of your volunteer company. Do not use the affiliation Baltimore County Fire Department or your application will be rejected and this will delay your progress.
Once your are ready to register, please proceed below. Understand that you will be completing a MULTI PART FORM. The first form will capture basic information and you will indicate if you need CPR. Following this, you will be re-routed to a registration through the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute for the Hazardous Materials Awareness & Core Competencies Program. You should complete both forms unless you are only registering for the CPR portion.
NOTE: You will receive multiple e-mails as your application moves through the approval queue. Please be on the lookout for an e-mail from Baltimore County no less than TEN days prior to your class date for seating information. Please note these emails may go into your spam folder.
If You Must Cancel
You must send an e-mail to mliddick@baltimorecountymd.gov indicating that you will be withdrawing from the Volunteer Weekend no later than THREE (3) days prior to the start of the Saturday session. Otherwise, you will be marked as a "NO SHOW" and this will impact your ability to be seated in future Volunteer Weekend and Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute training program offerings.
